Why should I use a wood lacrosse shaft?

How long does it take to get a hikstik lacrosse shaft?

Since these are made-to-order custom crafted handles, it can take up to ten days to properly construct the shaft, sand it, stain it, apply the finish, and allow it to cure. Sometimes we will have exactly what you want in our stock -- in that case, we will ship within 24 hours of your confirmed payment. Personalized engraving can add up to five extra days to the process.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover through the PayPal system. It is safe, private, and secure.

What if I don't have a PayPal account?

You don't need a PayPal account to make a payment. Just follow these instructions: Go to the www.paypal.com website; click on the “Send Money” tab and select the “Send Money Online” menu item. In the “Send Money” box, fill in the “To:” field with sales@hikstik.com; fill in the “From:” field with your email address and in the “Amount:” field enter the correct order amount in US Dollars; and finally, mark the “Goods” selection. Now fill in your credit card (Visa, MC, Discover, or Amex) information and address to complete the transaction.

What is Clear Shield (CS)?

It is a Minwax product we have tested extensively. We always suggest that you include a Clear Shield finish on your shaft. It protects the wood from the elements, it helps keep the specific gravity of the wood constant, and it helps prevent your shaft from becoming brittle. We put on three coats, sanding between each coat to give you the best possible finish.

Is Clear Shield slick or slippery or sticky or tacky?

Actually, you will find Clear Shield gives your hikstik just the kind of grip you would want. Neither slippery nor sticky, it just "feels right" in your hands. Try it, you'll be glad you did.

What are my stain color choices?

Very few people order stain (they think it detracts from the natural beauty of the wood) but there are almost 100 stains and colors we can apply. To see what is available take a look at www.minwax.com website.

Do you do engraving?

We sure do! Check out our examples on the engraving page. Sorry; we can't offer engraving on d-poles length shafts because they do not fit into our engraving machine. Custom Engraving can add up to five days to the ordering process.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes. You can get a 10% discount if you are a member of The Lacrosse Forums or 10% off for team orders (6 or more shafts).
